In Traditional Chinese Medicine, ringing in the ears, or Tinnitus, is an alarm that the energy in your Kidney Meridian is low or deficient. Most ear ringing conditions, unless caused by injury, are related to excessive stress or trauma, which depletes the energy flow to your kidneys. Besides points on the Kidney Meridian and around the ears themselves, other potent points for boosting the health of the kidneys are located in your lower back.

Acupressure Routine for Relieving Tinnitus
Using Acupressure points to relieve ringing in the ears is not a quick or easy fix. However, if you have the will to help yourself, here’s a simple step-by-step routine that you can practice.
Start by Sitting Comfortably
1. Acupressure massage around your ears. Place the fingertips of both hands about 1/8th of an inch behind your ears. Close your eyes and feel for hollow spots along the backs of your ears, and fit your fingertips into each of these indentations. Take slow, deep breaths as you firmly massage this area, by slowly moving your hand and gliding over the bumps on your skull. Continue for two minutes.
2. Acupressure on the base of your skull and top of your head. Use the Acupressure point GB 20, underneath the base of your skull, and the Acupressure points around the top of your head. Press these points about five times each, alternating your position between firm pressure on GB 20 and pressure into the sore spots on the back of the top of your head. These Acupressure points under the base of your skull are both sacred and spiritual.
3. Press the points behind and below your ear lobe. Place your index and middle fingertips beneath and below your ear lobe in an indentation that is soft and often very tender to any kind of pressure. Hold both sides it lightly as you breathe deeply for 2 to 3 minutes.
Lie Down on Your Back with Knees Bent
4. Bring your knees to your chest using your hands, holding your shins just below your knees. Inhale as you bring your knees away from your chest, and exhale as you bring your knees toward it. Do this slowly, and repeat five times.
This flattens the curve in the lower back, which can relieve lower backaches and is good for the kidneys. Then let your knees down and lie flat.
5. Hold CV 6. This point is located between your belly button and pubic bone. Hold this point and take slow deep breaths. Let yourself go into a deep state of relaxation for 5 to 10 minutes.
