Acupressure Yu Points
In my 50 years of experience using Acupressure and yoga therapy, I have found that the best exercises and healing techniques stimulate a series of special Acupressure points along the spine on both sides. These spinal points are so therapeutic because they benefit all of your internal organs. The proper use of these back Acupressure points, the Yu Points, will improve many health problems and also boost your overall wellness.
Acupressure Yu Points, also known as Shu Points, are the most effective treatment points on the body. I realize that’s a powerful statement, but my many years of experience has shown this to be true, so I’m sharing it with you.
These Yu Points are located on both sides of the spine. Since they’re difficult to reach, I’m giving you two different methods to stimulate them in other ways.
Reaching Acupressure Yu Points Without Your Hands
Tennis Ball Technique
Here’s a great way to stimulate these points and gain enormous health benefits. Place two tennis balls in a sock and tie the end with a string, rubber band, or twist tie, so that the balls stay together. Place them on a carpeted floor and lie down gradually on the balls, with your spine between the two balls. If it hurts because the balls are hard, double a thick towel over them for padding. Or you can use smaller or softer balls.
Every minute or two, move the balls to a different part of your back, keeping them on each side of your spine. After lying on the balls for five to ten minutes, remove them and stay on your back. Bend your knees, close your eyes, and deeply relax by taking slow, deep breaths for another ten minutes to fully discover the benefits.
Rock ‘n Roll Technique
You can also stimulate all these therapeutic back Acupressure points by rocking on your spine, back and forth, over a carpeted surface. I call this Acupressure technique Rock ‘n Roll. If your back is flat or if it’s too difficult, then roll gently from side to side instead.
Lie on your back on a carpet, then bend your knees toward your chest. Clasp your hands firmly below your knees, raise your head, and rock back and forth on your spine. After rocking on your back for a minute or two, lie flat and relax deeply with your eyes closed. Take slow, deep breaths for five to ten minutes to obtain the full health benefits.
Regular Practice is Important
Both of these techniques are powerful natural methods of self-treatment. I encourage you to do them regularly to enhance your health on many levels. After practicing the simple Tennis Ball or Rock ‘n Roll techniques for a month or two, to stimulate your back Acupressure Yu Points, I believe you’ll have remarkable health results.
