Acupressure Points for Your Memory

Mental Health, Negative Thoughts and Emotions
Whenever you want to make a new start for a better life, Acupressure can renew your energy at any time. By using the points in this article, you can begin to improve your memory and counteract negative thoughts and emotions. Practicing Acupressure while breathing slowly and deeply can significantly enhance your brain's health and your mental health.

First, you'll learn two memory and mental health points, where they're located, and how to find and hold them for best results. Then you'll receive guidance for using three valuable, empowering questions.
Touching GB 14 to Clear the Mind
Holding GV 26 to Ground the Body
Having goals can empower you to make changes and move ahead in your life. The first point GB 14, clears your mind, and enhances memory. The second point, GV 26, aids in you becoming more focused and creative, more positive, and to ground your aspirations.

Here's guidance to get in touch with what you want in your life. When you are ready, sit down with your journal, or pen and paper, or a new document on your computer. Start by asking yourself:
How do I want to shift my life?

What do I want for my next step forward?

What do I want to focus on, resolve, complete, or accomplish?
If you have difficulty answering these questions, or if you find it hard to focus on what you want, use these two Acupressure points to enhance your mental outlook, memory and concentration. GB 14 can help to clear your mind, and GV 26 can assist with bringing you back into your body. These points also counteract negative thoughts so you can think more positively.
How to use GB 14: By using a special mental healing point, GB 14, you can reprogram your mind towards a more open, positive attitude. Holding this point lightly while breathing deeply, several times a day, can release mental stress and cultivate mental health.

The location of GB 14 is above the center of your eye, one finger-width above your eyebrows. Use only very light touch on these points. You can use one hand to hold them by placing your thumb on one side and your index fingertip on the other side of your forehead. Apply a very gentle touch, as you breathe slowly and deeply for a couple of minutes.
You can also use both hands to hold GB 14 very gently with your middle fingertips, as illustrated. Be sure to breathe slowly and deeply, while holding these points lightly for a couple of minutes. After getting familiar with holding this point, increase the length of time up to five minutes.

Using this special clearing point, with deep breathing, can melt negative thought patterns and soothe difficult emotions. This works almost immediately, but doesn’t tend to last unless you apply this easy, gentle, cost-free technique regularly in your life.

People of all ages can benefit. Children and teens can use this point to clear their mind when taking a test. Elderly folks find it useful for memory, especially when having a “senior moment” of forgetfulness. And everyone can use it to deal with the stresses and pressures of daily life. All ages can use this point to counteract negative attitudes, since it calms and balances your emotions.
Enjoy the experience of clearing your mind, and the negative patterns associated with stress to increase your overall happiness!

How to use GV 26: Breathe deeply through your nose as you firmly press this point for a minute or two, and ask yourself the questions above. Point GV 26 can ground you to explore what’s important, inspiring, and vital for your life — to know what’s right for you. Discover an Acupressure point that supports mind-body balance. This enhances meditation, reduces worrying and doubting.

The location of GV 26
is between your upper lip and  nose, on the center midline of your body. Press this mental health point firmly enough to press into your upper gum. This can enable you to concentrate and feel more centered and focused.
What you focus on, you attract in your life, so affirm the worth of yourself and others.

This is an energy revival point, which calms and restores the spirit after a traumatic experience. It’s a potent point for mental health because it relieves depression, revives consciousness, and improves morale.

For Positive Thinking:
This Acupressure point clears your mind, enabling you to think more positively. When you treat yourself more positively, it makes a huge difference in your daily life. In addition to using this point, train yourself to think in a positive way.
A Memory From Michael Gach
Here's a memory from Michael Gach's past which contributed to his mental health.
"I was so depressed in high school. My mother was concerned about it, and told me, 'You can have anything you want in your life — but you need to know what you want in order to get it.' I was blessed to have that wisdom, clarity, and support."
