Everyone can benefit by learning how to boost their immune system using Acupressure. This is essential all year round, and is especially needed during the flu season. It’s safe and all you need is your hands. I will show you a natural method for immune boosting with Acupressure point K 27, and also give you many more resources for promoting health and healing at the bottom of this page.
K 27, called Elegant Mansion, is a point everyone should know. It’s a master point which promotes overall health. One way it boosts your immunity is by strengthening the respiratory system. It also opens your ability to breathe deeply, which is key to releasing endorphins, the neuro-chemicals that relieve pain.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Kidney Meridian stores healing energy and thus governs the immune system. Elegant Mansion, K 27, is the exit point of the Kidney Meridian — an especially powerful point. It’s easy to learn and use, and I have found it to be one of the most effective Acupressure points for balancing the health and functions of the body and for relieving hundreds of complaints.
Benefits of K 27 The Elegant Mansion points are good for many respiratory symptoms, such as chest congestion, phlegm, coughing, throat spasms, sore throats, shallow or difficult breathing, chest tightness, and chest pain. They are also helpful for emotional concerns, such as anxiety and agitation, and for hormonal issues, such as thyroid gland irregularities.
Point Location To find K 27, place your fingertips below your collarbone, just to the side of your breastbone. Rub with firm pressure, feeling for an indentation. When you get the point, you will feel a connection with your throat or chest, especially when you deepen your breath.
You have a few different options for how to hold K 27. No matter which one you use, hold the point or points for 2 to 3 minutes, as you breathe slowly and deeply. Use enough pressure to connect with the tightness or soreness.
ONE, you can use your right fingers to press the point on the left side of your chest, and hold the point for 2 to 3 minutes, breathing deeply. If you have time, you can switch sides and use your left fingers to press the point on your right side.
TWO, you can use your right thumb to hold K 27 on your right side, and at the same time, use your right fingers to hold K 27 on your left side. Again, be sure to breathe deeply as you hold the points for 2 to 3 minutes.
THREE, you can cross your hands over your heart, using your right fingers to press K 27 on the left side of your chest, and your left fingers to press K 27 on the right side of of your chest. Hold for 2 to 3 minutes as you breathe slowly and deeply.
Repeat 3 to 5 times daily for greater effectiveness in boosting your immune system.
