Firm pressure on GV 26, the Center of the Person point, balances the connection between your mind and body. This point clears the mind, and is good for balancing your equilibrium and dizziness. Use GV 26 when a person is feeling lightheadedness or unsteady and faint. This point is also good for vertigo. Press firmly above your upper lip into the gums, and hold for another 2 minutes.
Pressing this point into your upper gum stabilizes your equilibrium.
Use GV 26, pressing firmly above your upper lip onto the gum. Hold for 2 minutes.
Then press CV 17, located on the center of your breastbone, and breathe slowly and deeply for 2 more minutes.
Do this 2 or 3 times a day for both prevention and relief of vertigo and dizziness.
Working With Others
Use this first-aid revival point when you find your client's eye fluttering or notice other indications that your client may be losing consciousness. After a traumatic experience or strong emotional release, press GV 26 firmly to relieve any dizziness and to stabilize an individual. Also use this point if someone has consumed too much alcohol or had overdosed on a drug.
Additional Points
Press P 6 and TW 5, the Inner Gate and Outer Gate points, for a few minutes on each side. They are located on the inside and outside of your forearm, two and one-half finger-widths from the wrist crease. Use the thumb and index finger of your right hand to hold both points at the same time on your left arm. Then switch and hold the points on your right arm.
Hold the top of the head, Acupressure point GV 20, with the Third Eye point, GV 24.5, to balance the pituitary and pineal endocrine glands. These are also powerful points for overall physical balance and harmony. Breathe deeply and slowly as you hold the points. Using these Acupressure points before going to sleep and when waking up is very healing for fibromyalgia, insomnia, headaches, stress, vertigo, dizziness, and hormonal balance.
