Acupressure Digestive Aid Point Sp 16
For Relieving Indigestion & Hiccups

Sp 16 Location & Benefits
Below the edge of your rib cage is Sp 16, known as the “Abdominal Sorrow” point. It relieves many kinds of indigestion, such as abdominal cramps, acid stomach, gas pain, and ulcer pain. Sp 16 is also good for side stitches, rib pain, appetite imbalances, and hiccups.

To hold the point, curve your fingers and place then on the base of your rib cage. Abdominal Sorrow is located in line with your earlobes, a little closer to the center line than your nipples. Hold these points firmly for one or two minutes as you take long, deep breaths.

This video gives you close-up instruction on how to find and use Sp 16, an extremely valuable point to know.
Napoleon Bonaparte, the French military leader, is famous for holding this point. Sp 4 balances the Third Chakra, which governs ego, self-image, and the lust for power, in his case, during the French Revolution. Imagine Napoleon using this point to relieve his gastric pain, indigestion, burping, and bouts with hiccups.
